Mission Statement
The mission of Canadian Association of Interventional Cardiology is the advancement of interventional cardiology within Canada (achievement of excellence).
Objectives
Its activities include (but not limited to) promotion and dissemination of research, evaluation of technology, training in the specialty, communication among members, coordination of CME events, etc.
Membership
Membership is voluntary and upon payment of annual CAIC dues is open to all CCS members with an interest in interventional cardiology. Trainees in Cardiology (or fellows in interventional cardiology) may apply for Affiliate-in-Training membership (free of charge) with a letter from their program director.
Executive
Consists of chairman, past-chairman, secretary treasurer, and regional members-at-large. The term is two years. Terms are staggered. Chairman should stay on at least one term as past-president. Regional membership is divided according to East (Nfld., NB, NS), Quebec, Ontario, Prairies (Man, Sask., Alta), and BC and is independent of the chairman and past-chair.
